A typical day is: painting from 9am till 12:30pm, lunch ad free time till 2pm and more painting, maybe in a different location from 2 to 4-5pm. There is usually one or two morning or afternoon without painting because we organize a visit such as the market, a museum, a boat ride, etc…

You can always opt-out from the activity and paint or the opposite; opt out from the painting session and do your own thing. It is your vacation so you do what pleases you!

There is some walking involved every day. You need to be able to walk about 1 to 2 miles a day, on cobble stones and sometimes uphill. You also need to be able to climb some stairs (some hotels do not have elevators) and go up and down the van every day.

That being said, we always try to drive you close to the painting sites so you don’t have to walk too far with all your painting gears but that is not always possible. In a nutshell, the trips are not feasible for people with walking disabilities.

Most of the painters are women but we get some men on occasion. Most women travel either solo or with a friend. Once in a while a woman brings her non painter spouse along. The average age is between 60 and 75 years old.

Yes, we usually get many solo travelers on our tours. Besides, the group eats together for many lunches and dinners. Besides, our guides are always with the group so you will never be alone if you don’t want to.

Food allergies and vegetarian diets are catered for if announced in advance. However contact us before registering if you have a very restricted diet or serious allergies.

Yes, we will send you the recommended supply list from the teacher. We will also send you a trip package with all the information you need to know: help with your flight or train booking, hotel address, travel insurance recommendation, what type of clothes to bring, etc…

We understand that a year away can be a long time and many things can happen. However, if you wait longer the trip may be sold out. That is why we recommend that you insure your deposit right after you have registered for a trip. If you insure your US $600 deposit only (and not the full trip), it won’t cost you much. If you need to cancel the trip a few months down the road, the insurance will refund you (assuming you bought the right coverage). Once you pay the remaining balance, you can then insure the entire amount. We recommend Travel Insure. They will insure your deposit only.

As soon as you make your deposit because many travel insurance plans require you to purchase your coverage within a certain number of days (usually between 10 and 21 days) of making your initial trip deposit. Some of the coverage that requires purchase soon after trip deposit are ‘Cancel for any reason’ coverage or ‘Pre-Existing Medical Condition’ Coverage .

They have insured many of our travelers and have given excellent customer service in case of claims. Note that they only provide coverage to US residents.

Not at all. It is actually the perfect situation to travel with us. Our guides are bilingual and will be with you at all times, from your arrival at the airport (or train station) till the last day, back at the airport (or train station).
